Ringgold Telephone Company Reports Phone Scam

Some Ringgold Telephone Company (RTC) customers have reported that they are receiving fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be collections agents for RTC.  These individuals are demanding immediate payment for past due telephone bills. This is a scam.

Although RTC does offer a courtesy voicemail to remind customers about past due bills, RTC does not demand immediate payment through a live telephone agent.  If you have any questions, please contact RTC at 706/965-1234.

Charles Hosley, 19, Shot On Sylvan Drive During Drug Deal And Later Dies; Involved In Crash On North Market Street

Charles Hosley, 19, was shot and killed Monday night. The preliminary police investigation indicates that during a drug transaction at 310 Sylvan St., a fight broke out and Hosley was shot once.  Hosley then left in his vehicle later wrecking in the 700 block of North Market Street.  One other person involved in the crash was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. ...
