Brainerd UMC Commissions Stephen Ministers This Sunday

Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, will commission Patti Giles, Kim Ellis and Frances Habecker as Stephen Ministers this Sunday. Following the 10:45 service there will be a reception luncheon to honor their commitment. At the end there will be a 10 to 15 minute presentation about the Stephen Ministry.
The 6 p.m. Bible study this Wednesday will be on the books of Colossians and Philemon.

Bazaar, Barbecue And Fish Fry Will Be Held Saturday At Washington Hills UMC

Washington Hills UMC will be having a Bazaar/Barbecue/Fish Fry this Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The Barbecue/Fish Fry is sponsored by the Methodist Men and all profits go towards replacing a heat pump in the sanctuary.  The church is located just off Bonny Oaks Drive at LaGuana Drive. Charges Upgraded Against Avery To Murder After Victim of Chair Leg Attack At Moccasin Bend Dies

Charges have been upgraded to murder against Leviticus Avery, 37, after a man he allegedly attacked with a chair leg has died. Avery initially was charged with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder in the incident last Thursday at the Moccasin Bend Mental Health facility.
