Helen Ross McNabb Center Welcomes Former Fortwood Center Board Members

The Helen Ross McNabb Center has merged operations with the Fortwood Center of Chattanooga.  Andy Black, CEO of the Helen Ross McNabb Center, welcomed the following former Fortwood Center board members to the Helen Ross McNabb Center and Foundation boards of directors.

Ms. Mai Bell Hurley
Retired, Community Volunteer
Ms. Hurley first served on the Fortwood Center Board from 1976-1985. During that time she served as vice president in 1978 and president from 1979-1981. She came back and served on the board from 2005 to the present. Since 2005, she has served on the following committees: Executive, Finance, Development, Nominating, and Capital Campaign. Ms. Hurley has served as a pioneer in Chattanooga as the founding chair of first woman to chair the United Way Campaign and the United Way board, first woman elected and first woman chair on the Chattanooga City Council for 11 years, and first woman to chair the administrative board of First-Centenary United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ross Schram, III
Baker Donelson
Mr. Schram has served on the Fortwood Center Board since 2009. He served as vice president in 2010 and 2011 and president since October of 2012. During his tenure, he has served on the following committees: Executive, Finance and Project. Schram, of counsel in Baker Donelson’s Chattanooga office, concentrates his practice in real estate development. Mr. Schram has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate Law since 2008.

Mrs. Debbie Brown
Raymond James
Mrs. Brown has served on the Fortwood Board since 2009.  During that time she was on the development Committee and the Event Committee.  She is currently on the Fortwood Advisory Committee and serves on the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation Board. Mrs. Brown worked in the financial industry for 30 years.  As vice president of Investments with Raymond James, she and her husband Mike focus on retirement income planning and portfolio management. 

Ms. Virginia Love
Baker Donelson
Ms. Love has served on the Fortwood board since 2009.  During that time she served as secretary of the Board for two years in 2012 and 2013.  She also served on the Nominating and Executive committees.  She currently serves on the Fortwood Advisory Committee and on the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation Board.  Ms. Love, shareholder in the Baker Donelson Chattanooga office, concentrates her practice in estate planning law, federal income, estate gift and generation-skipping taxation law, estate and trust administration, corporate law and health care law.  

Mr. Keith Sanford
First Tennessee
Mr. Sanford has served on the Fortwood Center board since 2007.  During that time he served two years as president of the Fortwood board in 2011 and 2012.  He also has served on the following committees:  Finance, Project, Executive and Nominating.  He currently serves on the Fortwood Advisory Committee and on the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation Board. Mr. Sanford is market president for First Tennessee Bank in Chattanooga.
