CCS Golfer Pope Commits to Austin Peay

Chattanooga Christian School all-state golfer Anna Pope has verbally committed to attend Austin Peay University in the fall and play women's golf.

The CCS senior tied for sixth at the TSSAA D-I A-AA girls golf tournament as a junior in the fall 2012 earning all-state honors.

Ironically, Anna-Michelle Moore (Clarksville Academy)  - the girl she tied with in the state tournament  - has also verbally committed to play golf at APSU.

Pope is a four-year letter winner for CCS, an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society.

She won the Chattanooga PGA Junior Dan Tribble tournament this past summer, was runner-up in the 2013 Chattanooga City Junior Golf Championship and was twice named Creeks Bend Golf Course most improved fenale golfer in 2011 and 2012.

One man is in custody and another is being sought in the shooting of a man in the 2000 block of Rawlings Street on Sunday morning. A woman who Dalton Police say was stabbed Thursday by her husband has died of her injuries.   Glenda Dyer had been transported to Hamilton Medical Center.
