Local Girl Scouts Seek To Reconnect With Former Girl Scouts

Monday, March 10, 2014

The Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians (GSCSA) is looking to reconnect former Girl Scouts with its rich tradition and history. “We know there is a strong network of local women who are former Girl Scouts,” said Booth Kammann, CEO for the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians. “We want to reconnect with those women and provide them opportunities to tell their stories and become involved in shaping the lives of our future women leaders.”

Former Girl Scouts simply go to the website and click the Reconnect link. Women will be asked to complete a short questionnaire, and are automatically subscribed to receive an Alumnae Newsletter with information on local council activities, volunteer opportunities and other events.

Along with the alumnae initiative, three major Girl Scout Cookie Program happenings are also taking place this month. Cookie booth sales are underway and will last through March 23. Booths will feature the council’s “Top 6” best sellers at just $4.00 per box.
