The Chattanooga F.C. Academy 2004 Girls won the 2014 Vulcan Cup Soccer Tournament U10 Silver Divsion this past weekend in Birmingham.

The CFCA Girls lost their opener to BUSA 04 Elite North Blue, 2-1, but won the next two matches to reach the championship game. Chattanooga defeated Attack 04 Black (7-0) and EYSA Lady Fusion 04 Select (4-0).

In the title game against USC 04, Chattanooga scored the winning goal with seven minutes remaining for a 1-0 victory. 

Goal scorers for the weekend were Ana Silva (4), Morgan Hughes (1), Zoe Stalvey (3), Camilla Mook (1), Madeline Lee (1), Bailie Dull (1).  Samantha Helton (1) Madeline Lee (1). Gracen Brewster was a standout in goal with three shutouts. 

The CFCA 04 Girls have won the three championships this season and one second place finish. 


Lookouts Snap Losing Streak With 8-4 Win Over Smokies

Homeruns by Edgar Corcino and Mitch Garver helped lead the Lookouts over the Tennessee Smokies by a score of 8-4. Tennessee jumped out to an early 3-1 lead against Lookouts starting pitcher Kohl Stewart.  Though his ERA went up a little bit to 3.38, Stewart improved to 5-4 on the season. Mobile, Al. – St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile announced on Thursday that John Redman has been hired as their Head Men’s Basketball Coach. St. Paul’s is located on property bought from Spring Hill College, where Redman played basketball in college. Morning Fire Destroys Vacant Valleybrook House; 2 Firefighters Suffer Burns

Fire destroyed a vacant house in the Valleybrook Community early Thursday morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 5:35 a.m. and responded to a reported fire at the Valleybrook Golf and Country Club off Hixson Pike. Chattanooga Whiskey Company To Construct Large Distillery At Former Site Of Newton Chevrolet
