1 Person Killed, 2 Others Injured In Cleveland Crash

One person was killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle crash in Cleveland on Wednesday.

Traffic investigators said one of the drivers in the crash during the morning rush hour died later of his injuries at Erlanger Hospital. He was transported by ground ambulance.

The crash in the 7400 block of North Lee Highway is being investigated by the traffic unit of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.  Traffic deputies say the accident occurred when a southbound vehicle crossed to the opposite lane of travel where it collided with two northbound vehicles.  

The three drivers were alone and each required extrication by fire - rescue personnel.

Medical personnel transported two of the injured to hospitals in Cleveland (Skyridge) and Athens for treatment.   

Names of those injured and the victim of the crash will be withheld until notification of relatives.  

This is the fourth traffic death of 2014 in Bradley County.
