Street Closings Announced For Next Week

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from noon on Monday, to noon on Monday, March 24, for the Chattanooga RV Show.
 
The GPS/McCallie Cancer Walk will be held on Wednesday, from 12-1 p.m. The route utilizes River Street through the Coolidge Park area, crosses the Walnut Street Bridge, and then crosses Market Street at East 1st Street.  Motorists are asked to proceed with caution and expect pedestrians along the route.

 
The southbound lanes of 200 Broad Street between Aquarium Way and West 3rd Street will be closed on Friday, from 2:30-4 p.m. for The Block Grand Opening.

District 9 Community Meeting Is April 4

A District 9 community meeting will be held on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at McCallie Middle School Campus, 500 Dodds Ave.  Topics discussed will include District 9 updates in the community, resident discussion on the city's budgeting process, and a Regional Planning Agency update after the development of Chattanooga's Growing Forward ... Red Bank Jubilee Parade and MoonPie Festival Is May 2

The Annual Red Bank Jubilee Parade and MoonPie Festival will be held on Saturday, May 2. The free, family-friendly community event will feature a parade on Dayton Boulevard to the city park in downtown Red Bank, across the street from Bi-Lo. Robber Who Was Shot At Rossville Boulevard Car Lot Dies; No Charges To Be Filed

Police said a person who was shot during a robbery attempt at a car lot at 4314 Rossville Blvd. around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday has died. Police said the shooting has been ruled a "justifiable homicide" and no charges will be brought against 27-year-old Alan Miller. Man Charged In Shooting On Sixth Avenue Had Been Shot Himself Last Week; Police Say Incident "Part Of Gang War"

A man charged with attempted first-degree murder on Sixth Avenue Court on Thursday afternoon was shot himself earlier this month. O'Shae Kadaris Smith, 20, of 2114 E. 12th St., is also charged with reckless endangerment, aggravated assault and possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime.
