A life-sized sculpture of “Young William Shakespeare” was unveiled by British Consul General Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre on Sunday.
The event included music from a wind ensemble of the CSO and a wine reception with Shakespearean sonnets by CTC actors.
The sculpture commemorates the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth as well as the Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s 90th season
Young William Shakespeare was sculpted by Lawrence Holofcener.
The art was donated by former Chattanooga Theatre Centre board president, Jo Coke. Mr. Holofcener has worked and exhibited both in the U.S. and the U.K. More information is available on his website: www.holofcener.com
