Baylor's sixth grade class competed in the Battle of the Books, an annual event planned and administered by MS Librarian Karen Padilla to give students a team-challenge activity involving reading.

Each team member reads two-three books and prepares to answer objective questions about that reading in a game-show format. There's a tournament-style elimination held in the chapel to determine the winning team, who receive Kitty Cash for the student center.

Students may count the reading they do toward their independent reading goals in middle school.
