The Tennessee Golf Association is having a grand birthday and the party comes to Chattanooga Sat. March 29 at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

Celebrating one hundred years of outstanding players, course designers, courses and legendary contributors to the sport, the six-city banquet tour has stops in Jackson (Mar.

8), Nashville (Mar.21), Chattanooga (Mar. 29),  Johnson City (April 12), Knoxville (April 18) and Memphis (June 6)

The Chattanooga gala dinner and reception includes reception, a commemorate gift for all guests and fireside talks with four golf legends hosted by golf writer Chris Dortch.

Dortch’s new book The Titans of the TGA will be on sale at the dinner.  The well written book has chapters on 50 people who helped shape Tennessee’s Golf Association’s first 100 years.

His book includes interesting stories and interviews with Chattanooga area people who have left their mark on the game, including Betty Probasco, Betty Stocker, Jean St. Charles, David Stone, Gibby Gilbert Jr. and Judy Eller Street. Chapters on the late Lew Oehmig, Jack Lupton, Polly Boyd and Connie Day are also in the book.
