Community Summit For Middle Schoolers Is April 17

The Ivy Rose Foundation, Inc. and Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host a Community Summit for sixth, seventh and eighth graders on Thursday, April 17, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 

The Summit will be held at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, 1734 E. Third St. 

The keynote speakers will be Dr. Paul Smith and Minister Lurone “Coach” Jennings and they will speak on "And Still I Rise."

Breakout sessions will include Planning for College, Cyber Etiquette, Bullying, Leadership Development, STEM, TCAP Prep, Teen Dating Violence, Nutrition…Why Healthy Eating Matters, The Team that Makes it Work, Etiquette for Pre-teens and Teens and Pros and Cons of using Social Media.
