City officials said they have received 77 applications to date for the vacant post of city police chief.
They range in experience from 15 years to 41 years in policing.
The candidates are from 25 states.
A consulting firm, PERF, is vetting the candidate field now and will make recommendations to Mayor Andy Berke and the Blue Ribbon Panel in the coming weeks.
