Free SonRise Resurrection Pageant Tickets To Be Given Away At Hamilton Place

Free SonRise Resurrection Pageant tickets will be distributed to community members April 7 at 6 p.m. in the Hamilton Place Mall near the stage at center court. Typically, all 7,000 tickets are given away in 90 minutes. There is a limit of seven tickets per family. Person picking up tickets must be at least 16 years old. 

The annual pageant portrays Christ’s last days with 500 costumed cast members, live animals, and dramatic sets. The one-mile walk-through event recreates six interactive scenes from the Bible. Started in 1996, attendance at this event ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 people annually. SonRise is a collaboration of Southern Adventist University and the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists.

The SonRise Resurrection Pageant will be Saturday, April 19. Groups depart at 8:30 a.m. then every half hour until 2:30 p.m. The SonRise ticket information line is 954-2220. The event route is handicap accessible.

Graham Says County School-City Lawsuit Settlement "Stinks," But County Commission Approves It

The County Commission on Wednesday approved a settlement of a lawsuit brought by the Hamilton County Schools against the city of Chattanooga, though several commissioners said they were not happy with the deal and Commissioner Joe Graham said it "stinks."
