Whitaker Leads East Ridge Past Hixson 4-0

East Ridge's Tad Whitaker scored three goals Thursday afternoon in the Pioneers 4-0 District 6-A/AA win over Hixson.

East Ridge led 3-0 at the half.  Rasim Kazic scored the fourth goal for the Pioneers.  Marco Briseno had two assists and Kazic had one. 

East Ridge is now 4-0 in the district and 6-2 overall. 

In another game on Thursday, Central beat Sale Creek 8-0.

Father Killed By Train Just After Pushing Daugter To Safety In East Brainerd

A 31-year-old man was killed just after he pushed his 10-year-old daughter to safety in an encounter with a train on a trestle in East Brainerd on Thursday afternoon.
