Signal Mountain’s Seth Wicker collected three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs Thursday as the Eagles defeated Sale Creek, 6-0, in a non-district high school baseball game on the Panthers’ home field.
The Eagles scored all six runs in the third inning and that was more than enough offense to back left-hander Levi Glasscock’s complete-game, five-hit pitching performance. Glasscock struck out five.
Sale Creek’s Hayden Abbot and Drake Steele for 13 strikeouts while limiting Signal Mountain to five hits.
Spencer Hodge had the only extra-base hit – a third-inning double – for Sale Creek.
The two teams conclude the home-and-home series Friday at Signal Mountain. Game time is 6 p.m.
