Free Workshop On Benefits And Incentives Available For Solar To Area Residents

green|spaces in partnership with Aries Energy, is providing a free workshop to local residents that are interested in solar for their homes. The workshop will take place on March 19 at green|spaces, 63 E. Main Street Chattanooga, Tn. 37408 from 8-9 a.m.

Attendees will learn about the Tennessee Solar Program including incentives, credits, federal tax credits and applications. Additionally, the workshop will cover information on the typical grid-tied system and other unique solar installations. TVA has an annual cap on the solar programs it offers. The commercial solar PV for 2014 has already been oversubscribed. The residential program is filling rapidly.

Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise Offers Refinancing On 30-Year FHA Mortgages Granted After April 18, 2011

Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise now offers refinancing on all 30-year Federal Housing Administration mortgage loans granted after April 18, 2011. The news comes following the White House decision in January to reduce the annual FHA mortgage insurance premiums from 1.35 percent to 0.85 percent. Chattanooga Police Detective Karl Fields Terminated On Code Of Conduct Charges

Karl Fields, former Chattanooga Police detective, was terminated on Wednesday, on code of conduct charges. The Chattanooga Police Department received a correspondence from the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office o n Sept. 4, 2014,  informing it of allegations of inappropriate behavior committed by a CPD investigator during the course of a rape investigation. ... Autopsy Says 5-Year-Old Whitwell Boy Died Of Blunt Force Trauma

An autopsy on five-year-old Lucas Dillon of Whitwell says he died of blunt force trauma. The TBI is investigating the death, which is being treated as a homicide. The child, who lived on Jewell Lane Road, was injured on Saturday and died in a hospital on Monday. Lucas was a student at Whitwell Head Start. (click for more)
