Cross Pleads Guilty In Beating, Shooting Of Girlfriend

A Chattanooga man has pleaded guilty in Federal Court to being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Chaston Leodis Cross was arrested after an incident last April 13 in which police said he beat his girlfriend with a loaded gun and then shot her in the shoulder.

It happened at an establishment at 1514 E. 26th St.

Police said after an altercation with the girlfriend, Cross removed the gun from his waistband and began beating her on the top of her head. He then shot her.

Police later recovered a spent Tulamo .380 shell casing from the bullet used to shoot the girlfriend.

Cross will be sentenced by Judge Curtis Collier on June 5.

He faces up to 10 years in prison.
