Six-Week Lenten Study Begins Next Wednesday At First-Centenary UMC

A six-week Lenten study of the book, "The Way," by Adam Hamilton will begin Wednesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at Prime Time at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, 410 McCallie Ave.,  with dinner by reservation at 5:15. This study, led by the Rev.  Brian Davis, will be the only Prime Time adult program during Lent. Regular child and youth activities will continue. Small group studies of the same book  will be in various homes and times and at the church during Lent beginning March 9.

"Temptation Island" will be the Rev. Brian Davis' topic for the  8:30 and 10:45 a.m. sanctuary worship services Sunday, March 9. His text will be Matthew 4:1-11. Dr. Linda McDaniel will speak at 10:45 in The Vine service.

A Graysville, Tn., man who allegedly strangled, assaulted and threatened to kill his wife while holding her prisoner in their home is competent to stand trial, according to two forensic evaluators.
