7 Pick Up For School Board District 5; 4 For District 9

Seven people have picked up thus far for the open seat on County School Board District 5, and four have picked up for District 9.

Jeffrey Wilson is not running again in District 5 and Chairman Mike Evatt is not running in District 9.

Yashika Ward is the latest to pick up for District 5.

Steve Highlander picked up for District 9.

So far, Greg Martin in District 3 and Joe Galloway in District 6 are unopposed.

David Testerman may face opposition from Samevelyn Rock in District 8.

Boyd Using $11,670 Of Discretionary Funds For Public Art At Brainerd Hills

County Commissioner Tim Boyd said he was using $11,670 of his "discretionary funds" to pay the final debt owed on a piece of public art that was installed in mid-April in Brainerd Hills. Police Say One Gang Member Shot Another Over Card Game In Bivens Killing

Police said a dispute over a card game led Ladaquis Dewartae Southers to shoot Terrence Bivens multiple times. Southers has been returned to Hamilton County to face a charge of criminal homicide.
