A former Shelbyville youth pastor pleaded guilty on Friday at Chattanooga Federal Court on a charge of possession of child pornography.
Joseph Todd Neill was taken into custody after the plea before Federal Magistrate Susan Lee.
He faces up to 20 years in prison at sentencing on June 9 by Judge Sandy Mattice.
Prosecutors said in 2012, Neill was youth pastor at the North Fork Baptist Church. They said he started a sexual relationship with a minor who was in his youth group.
The Shelbyville Police Department seized his cell phone and on it found 72 images of minors engaged in sexually explicitly conduct.
