Thursday, April 10, 2014

Hamilton Place Mall officials have announced three new stores will open at nearby associated centers this summer.

Destination XL is set to open in late June at Hamilton Corner, between Sun Tan City and the new Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. The 6,947-square-foot store will carry more than 2,000 styles of men’s XL apparel, shoes in extended sizes, accessories and home and living products for a plus-sized lifestyle.  The store will feature over 100 brands including designers such as: Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Bahama, Lacoste, Michael Kors, DKNY Jeans, Cole Haan, as well as private-label brands like Canyon Ridge, Oak Hill, Harbor Bay and 555 Turnpike.  DXL provides customers with a relaxed and comfortable shopping experience featuring superior customer service and onsite tailors.

Local restaurateurs Joseph and Dianna Janini have partnered with Happy Upshaw to open “Happy Cakes” which will offer special occasion cakes for birthdays, weddings and more. Ms. Upshaw has over 15 years of professional baking experience and is looking forward to opening in this location in July.  The 1,260-square-foot bakery will be between European Market and Portrait Innovations at The Shoppes at Hamilton Place.

Chicken Salad Chick will open a second Chattanooga location at Gunbarrel Pointe between Moe’s Southwestern Grill and New Balance. The 2,500-square-foot restaurant will employ between 25–40 associates and is planning a July opening. The owners selected this location due to the great tenant mix and visibility in the highly desirable Hamilton Place area.

“It is so encouraging that one of our most loyal customers is opening two Chicken Salad Chicks within a few months!” said founder Stacy Brown. “We got to know Josh when he was a student at Auburn and frequent customer of our original location, and we are so excited that he is bringing our concept and passion to Tennessee.” Owner Josh Patton said, “I’m very excited to open my second location this summer in an upscale shopping center near Hamilton Place Mall - Chattanooga is in for a real treat!”

Hamilton Place general manager Dan Wolfe said, “We are committed to continually improving the shopping experience and believe these new stores will be a great addition to the Hamilton Place campus.”
