A Sunrise Service and Communion will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday, at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road. The service will begin on the lawn outside the Sanctuary and move into the Sanctuary for a full worship service and Holy Communion. At 9:30 and 11 a.m., there will be two identical blended services in the Sanctuary, including strings, brass, praise band, praise team, soloists and multiple choirs and a message by the Rev. Mark Flynn. At 9:30 and 11 a.m., the Commons worship service will celebrate the Resurrection with its regular style of music and a message by the pastor.
During Holy Week, on Thursday there will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary with Holy Communion, healing and foot washing.
Good Friday will have a Service of Tenebrae, with readings and music in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. The service traces the story of Christ's passion and the power of silence and darkness.
