David Lee “Pete” “Daddy Rabbit” White, 83, of Chattanooga, died on April 16, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn O’Daniel White.
He was a veteran of theKorean War and served in Japan. David retired from Dixie Yarns where he was quality control manager at Watkins Street, then Lupton City plant. He was president of American Society for Quality Control Textile and Needle Thread Division, president of Rossville High School Band Boosters, Pack Leader and Scout Master, choir director and member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, Jr. Achievement Advisor and oldest graduate of Chattanooga State as a pharmaceutical technician.
Survivors are his sons, David Lee White and wife Laura, Jr, Howard Daniel White and wife Joycelynn, Leonard Allison White and wife Sandy, Lawrence Lyle White and wife Lisa; daughter, Penny Sue White Jordan and husband Steve; sisters, Margaret O’Daniel and husband Jimmy Daraj and Patricia O’Daniel; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace with Reverend Lyle White, Reverend Chris Dover and Reverend Terry Huffaker officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, in National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday at Lane Funeral Home.
