James L. Nelson, 90, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away, Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Jay was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, who served his country during War World II. He also founded Nelson’s Store over 30 years ago, which is now known as Shelia’s. He was a retired auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Roberts Nelson; daughter, Shelia Nelson Wilson; parents, Isaac D. and Pearl Nichols Nelson; and three siblings, Anna Laura Wilson, Sam and Charles Nelson.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Jim Richardson and Bonnie and Larry Ware; siblings, Bill, George, Tommy and Luther Nelson and Jenny Goodner; son-in-law, Ronny Wilson; granddaughter, Stephanie Richardson Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Callie Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. CDT, Saturday, April 19, with Rev. Jim Richardson and Bro. Jeff Nelson officiating. Interment with full military honorsprovided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard, will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
