Erlanger's Windfall - And Response

  • Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Erlanger gets a much needed cash flow injection. Now if the executives and trustees can keep their fingers out of the cookie jar and all the funds go towards the departments involved in patient care, it would be a double rainbow miracle.

I was thinking is this a windfall, or a cash injection or maybe both? Or could it be for service already rendered?

As for the cookie jar, I would think it is well protected. I have worked at Erlanger for 16 years and I am trying real hard to think of a department that does not have direct patient care or support patient care, not one. I know nurses take care of patients, but some folks clean the rooms, cook the food, heck some even bring the nurses supplies and fix the computers they use. Some departments fix the air, make sure the lights work, someone even pays the bills.

Yes, all departments somehow have something to do with patient care.
