Bobbie Jean Hill, 79, of Dalton, GA, died on Friday, April 18, 2014, surround by her sons Tony and Kevin, after a brave, brief struggle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jack Hill; and her parents, Lee Gooden and Ola Caldwell.
Bobbie lived her life for the Lord. She was an active member of Grove Level Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and in the ladies trio. She enjoyed going on outings with the church seniors group, loved to go shopping and traveling especially to different parts of the world to visit son Kevin and his family. In school she played basketball and stayed in touch with her friends constantly through the years. She had several secretarial jobs through the years. She enjoyed her retirement and so enjoyed working in her flowers. On her many trips there were more pictures of flowers that people.
She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Tony & Elizabeth Hill of Villanow and Kevin & Jannet Hill of Burke, VA; grandchildren, Jared, Hannah and Jonas Hill; sister & brother-in-law, Thelma & Donald Kittle; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Dee & Don Garrett; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Perry & Glenda Hill; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Hill will be held Monday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
