Norma Raoul Clark, 84, of Lookout Mountain died on Monday, March 24, 2014, at Erlanger Hospital. 

A lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Kappner Clark, and her parents, Norman and Frances Sholar Raoul.

She graduated from Girls’ Preparatory School and the University of Chattanooga.  

She was a lifetime member of the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, where she married, taught Sunday School and participated in various study groups and other church activities. She was a member of Fairyland Club, Manker Patten Tennis Club and the Woodland Garden Club.  

She was Queen of Cotton Ball 18 in 1952 and was pleased to watch three granddaughters presented as Belles, two of whom also presided as Belles of the Court.  

She was active in numerous volunteer organizations. She was a member of the Junior League of Chattanooga and served on the boards of several civic organizations including the Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter and Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. Clark donated more than 20 years of service to Habitat For Humanity, where she was chairwoman of the Family Selection Committee. Since the late 1990s she served as a board member at the Chambliss Center for Children, where she was a sustaining board member and an active volunteer on the school board committee.  She also was a volunteer Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA) for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Court, and also donated her time to many other groups involving disadvantaged children.

Survivors include her son, Norman Raoul Clark and wife Karen, and their children, Denison Kappner and Logan of Denver; daughters, Kappner Clark Boles and husband, Read and their daughter, Mary Ashleigh, of Houston, and Sholar Clark Howard and husband, William and their children, William, Harriet, Agnes, and John Wyatt, of London, England.

Services will be held at noon on Monday, April 28, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Joe Novensen officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-noon at the church. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions will be appreciated by Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter at 315 Gillespie Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411 or Habitat for Humanity at 1201 East Main St. Chattanooga, Tn. 37408  or any other charity.
