Emerson, Sharon Elaine (Cleveland)

Sharon Elaine Emerson, 72, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, April 21 2014 in a Chattanooga hospital. 

She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Hazel Ferguson Smith; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 28 years Charles Ferguson; and a sister Lillian Lansberry.

Mrs. Emerson was born in Oregan August 11, 1941 in Riggins, ID and later moved to Cleveland in 1963. She retired from Duracell with over 32 years of service and was a member of the Cleveland Christian Church.

Survivors include her sons, Kevin Emerson and his wife Lisa and Rodney Emerson and his wife Pam all of Cleveland; a nephew, Kenny Emerson of Cleveland; grandchildren, Brooke Emerson, Dustin Emerson, Mark Pugh, Jordan Furtney and Emily Pugh;  and one brother, Rocky Smith.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Wildwood Ave. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes. The interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dewey Woody, Mike Woody, Jim Woody, Michael Biddy, Gene Gentry and Billy Pierce serving as casket bearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Sanders, Clyde Emerson and Sky Perry. 

The family will receive friends Friday, April 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
