ACE Awards Banquet Set For Tuesday

The 2014 ACE Award Banquet will be Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the UTC Student Center, Tennessee Room, 2nd Level. 

Only 15 percent of college freshmen plan to major in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, according to the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA. 

One ACE representative said, "Giving students the experience, confidence, and financial opportunities to pursue these careers (in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of design and construction) is what The ACE Mentor Program does.

ACE students meet after school with professional mentors from the building industry."


Chattanooga State SkillsUSA Students Earn Five National Medals

Chattanooga State’s TCAT division was well represented at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Ky. on June 19-23.  Seventeen students competed in 13 events and collectively they earned four silver medals and one bronze medal. Lee To Welcome Thousands To Campus For Teen Talent

3 Hikers Missing In Big Soddy Creek Gulf Area Are Found Safe

Three hikers missing since Sunday afternoon at Big Soddy Creek Gulf have been found safe. They left around noon, and were supposed to return around 6 p.m. The hikers are a married couple and their friend. They are avid hikers. Crews with the Soddy Daisy Police and Fire Departments began searching at daybreak on Monday. (click for more)

Pair Arrested In Connection With Lookout Mountain Vehicle Thefts, Break-Ins

Police on Lookout Mountain said two arrests have been made tied to the theft of  two vehicles stolen from a home in Lookout Mountain, Ga., last week.   In connection to the vehicle thefts, seven other vehicles were entered and several items were stolen.
