Alvin Knox
Alvin Lee Knox, Sr. "Sonny", 75, of Chickamauga, Georgia died on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Addison and Ora Edith Gribble Knox. He had resided in the Chickamauga area since 1959. He worked at Dan River Mill/Crystal Spring Print Works for 42 years as a journeyman printer. He was of the Baptist faith and a former member of Park City Baptist Church. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Falcons fan. He was a Hot Rod enthusiast and enjoyed working on Chevrolets, particularly his 31 Chevy. He looked forward to family "get togethers" especially Christmas Eve. He loved watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play ball.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Alvin Lee Knox, Jr., of Buford, Ga., Annette "Sissy" Rider (Todd) of Ringgold, Joey Knox (Derinda) of Chatsworth, sister, JoAnn Wynn of Hot Springs, Ar., grandchildren, Trey Rider (Bre), Holly Anderson (Dane), Chase Rider, Annberly McTaggart (Brandon), Drew Knox (Taylor), Hunter Knox (Kim), Joseph Knox, great-grandchildren, Andrew Rider, Ava Knox, Ivy Knox, Harper Anderson, Maliri Rider, Skylar Gazaway, Jordi Gazaway, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, at the funeral home from 3–8 p.m., and Saturday from noon until the service.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park – White Oak, Tn.
