Pam Fleenor Is The Most Qualified Candidate For Chancellor - And Response (6)

Thursday, May 01, 2014
I believe that Pam Fleenor is the most qualified candidate for Hamilton County chancellor, Part I.

In reference to Pam, you will frequently hear the term “judicial temperament.”  The temperate judge or chancellor is the one who would treat all with respect, courtesy and civility.  Pam would certainly exhibit these qualities, as well as the wisdom and diligence to fairly decide the difficult cases that are presented in chancery court.

I urge anyone reading this to research the candidates for Hamilton County Chancery Part I, and to please vote in this very important election.  Our next chancellor will be elected to a term of eight years and determine the outcome of our communities most sensitive cases.  Hamilton County would be incredibly fortunate to have a candidate as qualified as Pam Fleenor to serve our community in such a capacity.

I am writing to encourage you to vote for Pam Fleenor for chancellor. I have known Pam for over 40 years. We were high school classmates at Central and college classmates at UTC, where Pam graduated magna cum laude. Pam has always possessed strong leadership skills. She received the Benwood Foundation's Chapin-Thomas merit scholarship to Cincinnati College of Law.

Pam has Christian values and this is evident in her role as a wife and mother, and in her work in the children's ministry at her church, Lookout Mountain Presbyterian. Pam is honest and dependable and treats people with respect. She will make a great judge because she will work hard and treat people fairly and try to do the right thing. I have always been proud to call Pam my friend and you will be proud to have her as your next chancellor. Please vote Pam McNutt Fleenor for chancellor.

I have known Pam Mcnutt Fleenor and her family for many years and believe she would be an outstanding jurist and worthy of the title “Chancellor”.

From my perspective, the critical traits that should be required to sit in judgment on any bench are a deep understanding of the applicable laws, an empathetic demeanor and disposition to impartially listen and understand multiple sides of an argument, wisdom that comes from years of courtroom and life experience in a strong and supportive family and most of all, compassion to be able to consider all variables in dispensing justice and/or rendering critical decisions.

Pam fits all of the above criteria and then some and I would be proud to address her as “your honor”.

I voted early and have already cast my vote for Pam and encourage others to do so as well.

I want to encourage everyone to vote for Pam Fleenor for Hamilton County Chancery Court Judge.  I have been friends with Pam for many years and I know that she would be an excellent addition to our judicial system.

She is smart, kind and fair and  holds herself to a high standard.  She gives her whole heart to everything she does whether in her family, church, community or profession, and I know that
she would do the  same as Chancellor.

So please get out and vote for Pam!

I am writing to support Pam Fleenor for Chancellor.

For many, elections are about politics. But electing a judge should be about character and qualifications. Pam has both.

As a friend, neighbor and fellow church member, I know Pam personally.  Her character is one of deep faith, honesty, and a work ethic that is unsurpassed.

We all want impartial judges who work hard to serve the entire public, not a political activist.

Pam's got my friendship and trust. It's an honor to be able to cast a vote for her as Chancellor.  Please, support Pam Fleenor.

I rarely publicly support a particular candidate in local elections. However, I am glad to do so for Pam Fleenor. We often hear complaints about elected officials but if they are the only name on the ballot we do not have much of a choice. This time, for Chancellor, we are fortunate to have a choice. I know both candidates well and have worked with both. Either would do a good job . However, knowing both, I am compelled and proud to endorse Pam Fleenor and encourage others to cast their vote for Pam as I already have.

It is unfortunate that party politics is injected into a public office where the person elected takes a solemn oath to be fair, unbiased and impartial in their deliberations and decisions. That is our system in this State. Party officials often endorse or support candidates based on loyalties, allegiances and alliances that have little to do with qualifications. We can all probably think of or name political party candidates of national and local elections who have demonstrated they have little or no qualifications for the job to which they were elected; however, that would inject party politics into something I personally believe should remain above "politics as usual" - the selection of a fair, unbiased and impartial judge.

I have practiced law in Chattanooga for over 30 years. I have known Pam for several years and have had occasion to work with her on some matters. I have observed her work on many more. She has all the qualifications for a Chancellor. Pam is regularly appointed by sitting judges to assist in certain cases which is in itself a strong endorsement. Pam has the proper demeanor, consideration, compassion and legal knowledge to preside over the types of cases that come before our Chancellors.

I only have one vote but when I have to make a choice between two qualified people I have to consider the issues and causes of my clients who are really the stakeholders when their case is in Chancery Court. As attorneys, we have an obligation to our clients to consider and support the person we believe is best qualified for the job. That job is to decide what is often one of the most important matters to ever happen in a client's life or business. Pam is the best choice and I wholeheartedly support and recommend her for Chancellor.

I am voting tomorrow for Pam Fleenor as chancellor because we have enough politicians. It’s time to restore trust back into our elected leaders and Pam will do that.

Pam is an honest individual whose campaign has expressed her personal qualifications. It is especially noteworthy that Pam has been speaking for herself. It’s a nice change to see someone work hard for my vote.

I ask any to join me who’ve not yet voted.  Pam Fleenor really is the best choice.
