Car Wash, Spaghetti Dinner To Be Held At Grace Baptist Church

The Spanish ministry at Grace Baptist Church, 7815 Shallowford Road, will have a car wash Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for the Nicaragua trip.

Sunday, after the morning service, there will be a spaghetti fellowship prepared and served by the Youth Alaska team. There will be no charge for the meal, but guests are invited to give a love offering to the trip. Call 892-4869 to sign up.

Saturday, May 9 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall will be the Ladies Spring Banquet.

The cost is $15.  Girls ages three to 103 are invited for a catered, sit-down meal.  There will be a testimony from Robin Wolaver, mother of the six musicians in the Annie Moses Band.  At 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium there will be a concert by the Annie Moses Band.  Everyone is invited.  A Free Will offering will be received.

 


United Methodist Men Hold Several Events This Weekend

Guarnier Wins National Championship In Photo Finish At Chattanooga

Megan Guarnier barely nipped young sprinter Coryn Rivera at the finish line at MLK Boulevard in downtown Chattanooga to win the women's USA Cycling national title on Saturday. Tayler Wiles, who led briefly on the final lap, was a close third. City Seeking Grant To Improve Signals At 32 Intersections

The city is seeking a $2 million federal grant to go along with $500,000 in city funds for a project to improve signals at 32 intersections. There would also be bike and pedestrian improvements. The routes include Brainerd Road, Lee Highway, Shallowford Road, Gunbarrel Road and Hamilton Place Boulevard. The application is for a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Grant. (click for more)
