Chattanooga State Hosts Blood Drive This Friday

Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway, will sponsor a blood drive with Blood Assurance this Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honor of a student who was injured in a serious motorcycle accident. Chattanooga State is also hosting its 7th Annual Community Health, Fun & Wellness Expo plus “Operation Medicine Cabinet” the same day.

To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. The process usually takes about 30 minutes and includes a complimentary snack and t-shirt. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids - avoiding caffeine - and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating.

Woman Shot Twice By Estranged Boyfriend In Front Of Multiple People At Her Home In Dalton

A woman's estranged boyfriend entered her residence in Dalton on Friday night and shot her twice in front of a group of people, authorities said.
