  • Saturday, April 5, 2014

Eight people were displaced after a duplex fire on Saturday afternoon.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3:27 p.m. at 209 Spring Creek Road.  It took four fire companies about 25 minutes to get the fire under control.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

When the first companies arrived, the fire had spread up the back side of the duplex and advanced into the attack space. The fire companies used three hand lines to attack the fire and bring it under control. Tarps were used to try and protect the residents' belongings from water damage.

Eight people were displaced, including four adults and four children. The Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee and EPB also responded.
