Cash-Vines, Sue Webb Advance in World Tennis

In between rain delays Thursday, defending world champions Wesley Cash and Mark Vines rallied to defeat Stuart Chase-Martin Cornish, 0-6, 6-4, 10-3 in the men's 55s to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITF Senior World Tennis Championship in Boca Raton, Fla.

In the women's 50s singles, Sue Webb defeated No,12 Ellen Nuemann, 6-3 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals. She also will play women's and mixed doubles on Friday.

UTC men's tennis coach Carlos Garcia and Willie Alumbaugh won a round two match, but lost in round 3.
