Bo Watson To Honor Graduates Of Financial Education Program

On Wednesday from 12:15  – 1:15 p.m. at Tyner Academy Auditorium , 6836 Tyner Rd, Senator Bo Watson and Tyner Academy will honor graduates of the SouthEast Bank Financial Scholars Program, a new web-based financial education program available to all Hamilton County schools at no cost, underwritten by SouthEast Bank.

"This program helps Tennessee students prepare for the financial decisions of their futures, and inspire them for success. We hope to bring this celebration into the community with the support of local media, in an effort to raise awareness about Chattanooga’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders with financial education," officials said.

Also speaking at the event will be David Cowan, the CTE director of Hamilton County School District, and Monty Montgomery, the president and COO of SouthEast Bank.

Supreme Court To Hear Oral Arguments On Challenge To Electrocution, Six Other Cases

The Tennessee Supreme Court will hear oral arguments next week regarding whether a death row inmate can properly challenge the constitutionality of electrocution as a possible method of execution. Motorcyclist Dies In East Brainerd Crash Sunday Night

A motorcyclist died in a crash in East Brainerd on Sunday night. At approximately 10:07 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to 8776 Igou Gap Road. It was found that t he motorcyclist left the roadway for unknown reasons. T he rider was pronounced deceased on scene by HCEMS. I nvestigators are working to determine the cause of the crash. Erlanger Chooses Epic Software For New $100 Million Electronic Medical Records System; CEO Judy Faulkner To Visit Chattanooga

Erlanger CEO Kevin Spiegel announced that the Chattanooga hospital has chosen Epic Systems for a new electronic medical records system that he said will cost close to $100 million over 10 years.
