Impending Storms Moves Kick Off To 6:30

The Chattanooga FC soccer team will host the Wilmington Hammerheads Wednesday in the opener round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Finley Stadium.  The game was moved from 7:30 due to the weather.

The Chattanooga team is coming off a 2-0 win over the Georgia Revolution this past Saturday. 

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is recognize as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship.  It is an annual competition that is open to all amateur and professional soccer teams that have official affliliation with U.S. Soccer.  The tournament has crowned a champion for 100 consecutive years dating back to 1914. 

The Hammerheads compete in the USL professional division.  They opened their season on April 5 and are 2-2-1 on the season. 

Luke Winter and Michael Brooks scored CFC goals last week against the Georgia Revolution. 

Chattanooga FC will host Nashville FC on Saturday at 7:30 in the second league game. 

The Chattanooga team has played in the US Open Cup twice in the past.  In 2011, they lost in overtime and in 2012 they lost in penalty kicks.

City Budget Uses $36 Million From Various Reserve Funds

Daisy Madison, the city's chief financial officer, said the upcoming city budget uses $36 million from various reserve funds, including $11 million from the city's rainy day fund. The budget last year pulled $10 million from the rainy day fund.
