Intersection Improvements On Market Street Begin Monday

Intersection improvements will begin at Market Street and Manning Street with the installation of stamped concrete crosswalks at 8:30 am on Monday.  Market Street will be narrowed to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project, scheduled for four weeks, ending on or before Friday, June 13.

The Morris Hill Road closure is on schedule and will reopen for through traffic Friday by 4 p.m.  The project is not complete but the trenches have been backfilled and steel plates will be in place to allow for traffic.

 Full closure of the roadway, from this point forward, should not be necessary.

Walnut Commons, the first downtown apartment complex built in many years, sold for $15 million, one of the developers said.
