Poe's Tavern Pioneer Days Set For May 31

The city of Soddy-Daisy Parks and Recreation Board and Horsin’ Around Carving School will host Pioneer Days on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Poe’s Tavern Historical Park.  The park is at 9835 Dayton Pike, next door to the Soddy-Daisy Municipal Building. 

Pioneer Days is an event to celebrate the community’s past with demonstrations of authentic craftsmen and pioneer era artisans, wood carvers, historical information, music, food and more. 

There will be activities for the entire family.

Erlanger Has Unique Ribbon Cutting For $16 Million Heart And Lung Institute

Erlanger Health System unveiled its new $16 million Heart and Lung Institute on Thursday with a unique ribbon cutting. Dr. Larry Shears, a renowned heart surgeon who was recruited for the center, used the Da Vinci robot that he often operates with to clip a ribbon by remote control. City Files Petition To Turn Confederate Cemetery Over To Sons Of The Confederacy

The city of Chattanooga has filed a petition in Chancery Court asking that management of the Confederate Cemetery be turned over to the Sons of the Confederacy.
