University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball head coach Jim Foster announced the addition of transfer Sydney Vanlandingham (Hermitage, Tenn.) to the 2014-15 roster.

Vanlandingham played for UT Martin as a freshman in the 2012-13 season starting the first six games for the Skyhawks. The 5-foot-11 forward averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game and scored a career-high 12 points against Tennessee Tech making all four of her 3-point attempts.

“We’re fortunate to have someone with intercollegiate experience,” Foster said of his addition.

Martin posted an overall record of 19-15 and went 11-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) regular season. The Skyhawks won the OVC Tournament in overtime against Tennessee Tech and with a 16-seed, drew No. 1 seeded Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

After her freshman year at UT Martin, Vanlandingham moved across the state and enrolled at UTC. She prepped at Wilson Central High School where she led her team to the 2011 state tournament. She was named All-District 9-AAA as a senior and scored a career-best 34 points against Smyrna.

She is the daughter of Larry and Gail Vanlandingham and has one brother, Zane.
