Sobriety Checkpoints Set Up For Memorial Day Weekend

The East Ridge Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in a combined effort will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint and Patrol Saturation on Friday and Saturday on various highways, streets, roads in Hamilton County and the city of East Ridge.  These locations include but are not limited to Ringgold Road, Spring Creek Road, Frawley Road, Germantown Road, Brainerd Road,  Moore Road, and unincorporated areas of Hamilton County.  The Sobriety Checkpoint will be held between the hours of 6 p.m.-4 a.m. to include patrol saturation.

The goal is to reduce crashes, remove the intoxicated and impaired driver, and save lives on streets and highways.

Special attention will be placed on the impaired and intoxicated driver, and those who chose not to buckle their seatbelt.

This checkpoint will be in conjunction with the Click It or Ticket Campaign sponsored by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
