It looks like Chuck Fleischmann’s efforts to get funding and priority for the Chickamauga Lock are finally bearing fruit, and he should be recognized for his leadership in getting this done. Thank you, Chuck, for your stick-to-it-tiveness on this vital piece of infrastructure to the businesses and economy of Chattanooga and East Tennessee.

It’s just too hard for me to read kudos to Chuck from Wilson von Kessler and not respond. Maybe if he would just YouTube Chuck Fleischmann and watch both his floor and committee speeches, he would learn that there are two big problems.
The first problem is that Chuck has no leadership ability. Giving him kudos for his “stick-to-it-tiveness” is like giving kudos to Dennis Rodman for not getting another tattoo or nose ring before he goes back to visit North Korea. He hasn’t stuck to getting the new lock. At best, we are fourth in line with no money in the budget that our former Congressman worked so hard to get. Chuck merely ask “what are your thoughts on this” when attending a committee meeting. I’ve got an idea, why doesn’t he tell them what his thoughts are and things need to change. Step up to the plate man.
The second problem is that Chuck doesn’t recognized that time is running out on the existing lock. Oh yes, he knows that there are problems because he says “I’ve visited it twice since I’ve been in office.” I guess if I sleep in the garage tonight I’ll know all about automobiles.
We are on target for the lock to be closed in 36 to 42 months because it just won’t hold up past that. When it closes, all of that river traffic will be switched to our highways. Speaking of a nightmare, this will be a huge one.
Chuck voted against the bill to increase revenues via user fees. I don’t understand that vote when the very barge owners that would have to pay the fees were in favor of them. I would pay a user fee to have a bridge built from Harrison to Hixson because I would use the bridge to save myself 20 miles and 40 minutes of driving. It’s not a tax, it’s a user fee in order to help me get what I need.
It’s time to wake up 3rd District and send Weston Wamp to Congress because he will fight the fight for us. We don’t have a fighter now and we won’t until we vote for the change.

Pat Williams is a hundred percent correct about Chuck unable to produce. Why do you think all the headlines are about Senator Alexander and the Chick Lock? Because our "representative" doesn't have what it takes to get anything done.
Weston will pick up where his dad left off and help get the Lock stable once again. It's time for people to wake up and realize we do need a drastic change in the Third District.
