Weekend VBS Format At Tyner United Methodist

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 at Tyner United Methodist Church, 6805 Standifer Gap Road, for Vacation Bible School. Here are the time frames for each day:

Friday, May 30: 5 p.m.-6 p.m.  Registration and Family Dinner; 6 p.m.-8 p.m. VBS Program
Saturday, May 31: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. VBS Program (lunch will be provided)

Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy VBS with your kids or take some time for yourself and refresh.  Doing a weekend VBS will hopefully give  more people the opportunity to attend without fighting work schedules, vacations, and bed times.

Early registration will be up and running soon, so please take the time to sign up early.  Also, if you are wanting to volunteer with this event, please just let the church know and they will be happy to sign you up.  VBS is for children ages 3 (as of 8/31/2013) through completed 5th grade.

2 Witnesses To A Murder Refuse To Testify At Jury Trial

Two men who prosecutors say witnessed a murder in Hixson on Jan. 31, 2014, on Wednesday refused to tell their story to a jury. PETA And Humane Educational Society Offer Reward For Torture-Killing Of Dog After Envelope Mailed From Chattanooga

An envelope postmarked from Chattanooga and containing a photo of a dog strung between two trees arrived at PETA's office in Virginia Tuesday, along with the severed ear of a dog.
