Fox Tied For Lead At Tennessee State Open

NASHVILLE -- Former UTC golfer Steven Fox shares the lead after the first round of the SunTrust State Open Championship at the Belle Meade Country Club.

Fox, a former U.S. Amateur champion, shot 2-under 70 and shares the lead with Nashville's Joshua Bevell, Knoxville's Davis Shore and Loudon's Garrett Willis.

UTC golfer Brooks Thomas is tied for 10th and two shots off the lead at even-par 72.

Another former UTC golfer, Derek Rende, shot an opening-round 73.

Police Report Says Man Shot On Wilkes Avenue Was Running From Deputies

A police report says a man who was shot on Friday on Wilkes Avenue was running from deputies at the time. Kenneth Charles Rogers was taken to the hospital after being shot, but he has now been moved to the Hamilton County Jail.
