Bobby Joe Bell, 83, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, May 22, 2014.

He was born on Signal Mountain and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church for over 15 years. He was the owner/operator of Bonny Oaks Food Market for over 25 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served at McChord Air Force Base in Seattle.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Jo Bell and his parents, Elmer and Willie Ruth Erwin Bell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Bell of Harrison; sons, Mark, of Chattanooga, Ted and Greg, both of Ringgold; daughter, Teresa Elmore of Harrison; brothers, Kenneth Bell, of Signal Mountain and Nick Bell of Savannah, Ga.; grandsons, TJ, Todd, Alex, Eric and Ryan; granddaughters, Rilee, Christy and Angela; six great-grandchildren and one special cousin, Edwina Chadwick of Canton, Ga.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m. in the Highway 58 chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Dr. David Bragg officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens East Cemetery.
