Brassworks Plays At Creative Discovery Museum Saturday

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Creative Discovery Museum will host and afternoon concert provided by Brassworks, an outreach ensemble band from the Jericho Brass Band of Chattanooga, on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.

Brassworks is a small musical group that was created to perform in venues where a larger ensemble could not. The purpose of the outreach ensemble is to provide a program of familiar and new music to a wide range of audiences. Music for their programs includes marches, folk tunes, patriotic selections, pop tunes and hymns.

“Any opportunity for children to experience live music is a positive and memorable moment,” said Liza Blair, arts manager at Creative Discovery Museum. “What better group to see and hear than a brass band: a sound many children may not be familiar with or possess knowledge of the instruments involved.”

Brassworks is made up of a trumpet, a French horn, two tubas, a trombone and a euphonium. Performance is free with paid Museum admission.

For more information, call 756-2738 or visit the Museum website at www.cdmfun.org.

Current Republican Tax Plan Will Add To The National Debt

Independent tax experts agree that the Republican tax plan will add over $1 trillion to the national debt, even accounting for economic growth.  Adding to the national debt during good economic times doesn’t seem smart to me.
