New Principal Positions For Hamilton County Schools Announced

Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Rick Smith announced that the following individuals have accepted administrative positions for the 2014-15 school year. These administrators will begin their assignments in their new schools and / or positions on July 1.

Elementary Schools

Emily Baker, retired HCDE administrator and current assistant principal at Brown Academy, will become principal there.  Ms. Baker was first hired with HCDE in 1986.

Shannon Braziel, current assistant principal at Nolan Elementary, will become principal at Hardy Elementary.  Ms. Braziel has been with HCDE since 2003.

Norma Faerber, current principal at McConnell Elementary, will become principal at Alpine Crest Elementary.  Ms. Faerber has been with HCDE since 1997.

Phil Iannarone, current assistant principal at East Lake Academy, will become principal at Spring Creek Elementary.  Mr. Iannarone has been with HCDE since 2004.

Ruth Pohlman will become principal at McConnell Elementary.  Ms. Pohlman is the current director of Secondary Education and K-12 Assessment for Jefferson County Schools.  She has been a teacher and administrator with Jefferson County since 1996.

Secondary Schools

Julius Hargrove, current assistant principal at Tyner Academy, will become principal there.  Mr. Hargrove has been with HCDE since 1984.

Susan Kennedy, retired HCDE administrator, will become the interim principal at Normal Park Museum magnet School.  Ms. Kennedy was first hired with HCDE in 1978.
