Walker County Chamber Of Commerce Membership Luncheon To Be Held On June 17

The Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its June 17 Membership Luncheon at the Gordon Lee Mansion in Chickamauga. Chamber Chairwoman Melissa Roden will discuss One-Walker, City Manager Micheal Haney will give the State of the City of Chickmauga address, Chickamauga City School Superintendent Melody Day will give a system update, and Commissioner Bebe Heiskell will give a brief State of Walker County address. 

The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Attendees may begin registering at 11:30 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 11:50 a.m. The cost to attend is $15 per person.  Registration includes a wonderful meal provided by the Crystal Springs Smokehouse. Those wishing to attend must register online; registration will end on Sunday at midnight prior to the event and no walk-ins will be accepted.  Non-Chamber members are required to pay by Visa or MasterCard at the time of registration. Refunds for cancellations will not be accepted after noon on Friday, June 13.

One-Walker’s purpose is to “Facilitate venue and discussions for the cities, county and Chamber to identify best opportunities for collaboration.”  During her portion of the event, Chairwoman Melissa Roden will discuss how this initiative came about, how the group has operated to date, and how it will continue to work towards a brighter future for Walker County. 
 
City Manager Haney and Commissioner Heiskell will give updates as to the current statuses of the city of Chickamauga and Walker County as well as brief outlooks on their futures.

Door prizes and sponsors for the event include Chickamauga Florist, Edward Jones – Rob Looney, Galleries on Gordon, Laura Lou’s Bake Shop, Red Barn Designs and Southcrest Bank.  The event will include a wonderful meal catered by Crystal Springs Smokehouse.

Tours of the Gordon Lee Mansion will immediately follow the event and will be provided by the Friends of the Gordon Lee Mansion; tours will last approximately 20 minutes and donations are greatly appreciated.

3 People Shot At Citgo On Glenwood Drive; 1 Dies

Three people were shot at a convenience store in Glenwood on Monday afternoon. One later died after being rushed to the hospital. A second person who was shot went to the hospital by personal vehicle. Police initially could not locate the third victim, but later confirmed another had been shot. Erlanger Pharmacies Sold To CVS For $10 Million; Units At East, North To Close

Retail pharmacies at Erlanger Health System are being sold to CVS for $10 million, officials said. The retail drug stores at Erlanger North in Red Bank and Erlanger East on Gunbarrel Road will close.
