Hixson United Methodist Golden Agers Will Meet Monday

The Golden Agers at Hixson United Methodist Church, 5301 Old Hixson Pike, will meet Monday at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Bevelle Puffer will bring a program on "Food, Nutrition, And Cooking For One (Or Two)." Lunch will be spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and Italian cream cake.

The XYZ's are sponsoring a bus trip to Cumberland County Playhouse to see "Annie Get Your Gun" on June 3. Lunch will be at the Cumberland County State Park. For more into please contact Chuck Sedgwick at

Our Mom's Bible will be meeting on Wednesday evenings for the summer from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning June 4.  Yoga will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the Children's Worship space and then the meeting will be in room G-16 from 7 to 8 p.m. to discuss a book from the Bible.

Strong Winds Wreak Havoc In Chattanooga; Thousands Lose Power

A storm with wind gusts up to 70 mph did considerable damage in downtown Chattanooga around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Fencing along Miller Park was twisted onto a nearby lane of traffic on Market Street. 2 Shot In Separate Incidents Early Saturday Morning; 1 Victim Is A Juvenile Girl

Two people were shot early Saturday morning in separate incidents.
